With the NBA season almost 3 quarters of the way through, teams like the Knicks and Cavs need to start looking more into the potential draftee's and I have my own list of 3 top prospects in College or High School that I think will be game changers when their time is up, and no this will not be a Zion fan girl article as I am not sold on the phenomenon, but I am sold on ......
3. RJ Barrett
Yes Zion's teammate in my opinion is the best player in the upcoming draft, he has a very complete offensive game, can play great defense, and has one of the better IQ's of players in the NCAA right now. It is going to be a shame he will not be number one due to hype when his numbers are first overall pick worthy. Coming out of high school the number one prospect and going to the Warriors of the NCAA signing 3 of the top 3 kids in the 2018 class, he proved he plays way above average surrounded by talent, meaning anywhere he goes he will stay at the same level, unless he goes to the Knick's or Cav's because you know their rosters are trash. Kidding, but he is going to make an impact wherever he goes and is my way too early Rookie of the Year choice in 2020.
2. Bol Bol
Even though he suffered a foot injury pretty early in the season, I do not think you can overlook a 7'3 Center who can shoot like a stretch 4 in 2k. Bol Bol has the makings of a star if he can stay healthy which is usually a problem for big men of that size. Hopefully his style of play will not be too much on him as he is a shooter and a great rim protector like his dad. He was my favorite player going into this years season and will be a top 10 pick in the 2019 NBA draft if he can fully recover and go back to his old ways.
and number 1
1. LaMelo Ball
Yes I did it, put the second most hyped high school basketball player in the last 2 years number 1 on my list even if he played in a B.S. JBA and went to Lithuania. LaMelo Ball has raw talent and has matured so much if you watch his game. As a young kid at Chino Hills a top basketball team in the nation, LaMelo was 6'1 and dropping buckets left and right, once dropping 92 in one game. Now fully evolved Ball is 6'7 and looks a lot like his brother times a million in his high school games. Yes he is still in High School and has played good competition but just because he went overseas and switched around teams for a while DOES NOT mean this man can not ball. He is filthy to the bone and it is a shame he barely has any offers currently because his father is a loud mouth. Hate him or not he will be in the NBA by the end 2020 draft whether it be late first round or an un-drafted steal, this kid is a hopper and deserves a chance to play in the NCAA.
It will be interesting to see where all of these kids end up, thanks for the read.
